Why you might need a generator?

You don't have a working power outlet that can support a 15 amp blower available within 50ft of the inflatable.

Your order requires an additional blower, but the local circuit that's close to the inflatable cannot support more than 15 amps. This is done to avoid tripping the breaker by overloading it.

What you need to know about using a generator:

How long will a generator run? E&J Funday rents generators with a full tank.  This can last for 4 hours, possibly longer.  Fuel level needs to be checked at 4 hours of run time.

What size generator do I need?

Generators have circuits with breakers just like a home.  Overloading a circuit will cause the breaker to trip which will result in the outlets power being cut off.  Blowers use to inflate Bounce Houses and Slides draw power that is measured in watts and amps.  Most require a minimum of 3000 running watts to work properly and keep the unit inflated.

E&J Funday offers two sizes, 3000 running watts and 5000 running watts generators

Smaller generator 3000 running watts: Can power one blower which covers most smaller and medium sized units that require only one blower to keep inflated.  This is listed on the item info section of the item website page.  This generator can run around 6 hours with only one blower running, but should be checked at 4 hours of run time.
 

Larger generator 5000 running watts: Can power two blowers or one blower and once concession.  Some larger units like Large water slides may require two blowers.  The item info section will outline how many blowers are needed.  This generator has two circuits that can be used, one device require running power to be plugged in per circuit.  This generator has a larger motor and will burn more fuel powering two devices.  Fuel level should be checked at 4 hours of use. 

What if my event is longer than 4 hours?

To avoid the potential for a generator to run low on fuel causing it to stop running which will shutdown power to the blowers, they must be checked at 4 hours of use.  If more fuel is needed before the event ends, you can have the children exit the ride safely so you can power down the generator to refuel.

E&J Funday offers additional fuel that can be added to your rental order.  You can add a 5 gallon gas can rental that will be provided with 5 gallons of fuel.

Note:  Generators will burn more fuel if a larger load is required = more items are plugged in and running off the generator.  Generators should be checked after 4 hours of run time.  They must be powered down when refueling.  Typically delivery is scheduled at least an hour before your event start time.  To save fuel, the generators may be powered down to save fuel and can be restarted 15-20 minutes before the event start time.  The E&J Fun Agent also known as the delivery driver will go over this with you at time of delivery.
